More Pictures

Janeen is in Orlando for a work thing and was able to meet up with Justin and Amanda and she got to see Keely and Kade and their parents. I was so jealous. Neeners has an iphone now and was so kind to send me some pictures. Keely is growing and Kade looks like such a little boy.

Justin and Kade at the restaraunt they went to. I talked to Amanda the other day and she was telling me how Kade didn't want to sing the other night and do popcorn popping so she sang it with Keely and helped her do the motions and now Kade tries to get her to sing other songs and shows her how to do the motions and helps her do them too. I thought that was so cute!

Jared and Ann Marie's latest Jack. He is a little porker but so adorable. 4 months old yesterday. I love this picture he looks like he is sneaking something out of pa--pa's pocket. I talked to Jared's crew yesterday it was so nice to do so!! Emily has lost several teeth..I need pictures of that and Cole asked me if I could send him a four wheeler. I busted up laughing when he asked. He knows I send him stuff in the mail and I guess to a 3 year old it doesn't seem too big a request. I will try to find a mini one to send him.

Updates

Mom and Dad are still in Greenbrier. Dad is the Bishop of the Conway II ward and runs his own car lot and car auction. Mom is the right hand lady and grandma extraordinaire.

Quincy and Amy have the 5 boys Ben9 Gabe8 Sam6 Jacob4 and Daniel1. Apparently Jacob who has Down Syndrome has taking a liking to Ann of Green Gables and is watching it often. Quincy and the McKinney and McKinney law firm are great from what I hear.

Jared and Ann Marie have a lot of numbers Ann Marie has been pregnant 5 times had 6 children and these 4 are with us Emily5 ,she just started kindergarten and takes violin lessons, Cole3 Luke2 and Jack 3months. Jared and the McKinney and McKinney law firm are great too.

Me still just solo me in Alaska. I am teaching 6-8 grade social studies at a Special Education School for the emotionally challenged youth. I am enjoying this year so much more than last year when I taught elementary. I am thinking about a Masters degree or going to law school will see....I am already looking forward to Christmas time and seeing all of the family!!

Justin and Amanda have the 2 now Kade and Keely. Justin is officially a paramedic firefighter EMT and Amanda is working for the Florida virtual school. I think that works out fairly well; with 2 kids it might be more of a struggle.

Spencer is in Idaho and dating a girl we shall see how it works out. I hope well so long as I get more babies out of the deal I am happy. =-)

Janeen is in Conway and working at Hurley Chiropractic and doing great. She has been promoted several times and is now doing some PR work for the office. Yay Janeen. I think she might take some night classes and work on her degree.

Eldon is always working hard and crackin wise. He would leave on his mission tomorrow if they let him. He is building a metal building for dad and doing some lawn maintenance sprinkler stuff too.

New Baby's Jack and Keely

Jack the Michellin tire baby...check out those arm rolls...so cute.

Momma let Janeen dye her hair I am anxious to see what that looks like.

So our family has welcomed two new babies Jack in June and Keely in September. Jack belongs to Jared and Ann Marie and Keely to Justin and Amanda. I don't have any pictures of Keely yet but she is a doll.

attempted murder charge

so today after school our meeting..we "process" every day after school talk about the kids and why APD has been at our school -they are here at least once during the day. Today our school social worker was telling us about a new student that was coming into our school full time and how nice this young person was and then our principal asked if anyone else had something to add...and another teacher piped up that if he starts talking about the attempted murder charge you need to shut that conversation down very directly and quickly....other than that the new student has been wonderful in my class. Everyone at my table busted out laughing. "Other than that attempted murder charge" its been great...only at my secret school.

Spring has sprung and it is nice! Sun sets around 10 pm and light starts streaming in my windows around 5am -ish. The snow is completely gone -except for the tops of the mountains. Saturday I went for a short drive down to Beluga point and walked around a bit. It was nice. Then I went to a movie with a friend and the sunset was gorgeous. Pinks and purples around the downtown buildings with the mountains behind us and the moon was up and visible. Amazing!

Thinking really seriously about staying here another year. The though of saying goodbye made me re-think my choice to go home. I am wicked close the the McKinney clan that is for sure and the Sherwood gang too; however, I feel there is more for me to do here. Still not 100% either way.

23 School days left...and I can not believe it. It has really gone by so quickly! I will miss my misfits. I was telling them today about an old roommate Monica who used to always add up random things at the grocery store...stuff like this would escape her mouth....50 cents for a pack of gum and lets say they sell 50 packs a day that's 25.00 a day times 365 days that's 9,125. 00 a year. Seriously, every time we went. I don't know if she was just bored or wanted to go into business for herself selling gum, or chips, or bobbypin. Anyway, we were talking Science about Archimedes discovery and how our minds are scientific. We are naturally curious. We also talked about how most of us attempt flying at one time or another. The stories the kids told were cracking me up. One told me that they planted an apple seed in an indoor plant and it grew a little tiny apple tree with little tiny apples that were very delicious. --I was rolling laughing. Another told me one time they jumped off the roof and landed in the basement. These kids oh the joys!! Can't wait to have a few of my own.

Big Sissys

So apparently my family is so less effective at attempting to blog...big sissys....I still love them anyways. Momma promised me she was going to hook up the web cam when she gets here new computer. I hope that this new computer purchase happens soon. I am dying to see baby Daniel and Jake - my nephew with Down Syndrome. He has counted to me over the phone and that was sooo cute.

Spring has sprung here in Alaska and it is NICEY NICE!!!! I am leaning heavily towards staying another year here. I think I have some unfinished business and people that I am supposed to meet and help. It will work out either way.

General Conference

So I have thoroughly enjoyed my institute class this last semester studying the last two general conference ensigns. I have been lucky enough to attend  in person several times..once when the "Meganacle" aka the conference center was dedicated back in 2000 or 2001 I don't remember now. I also went in 2005 after my mission and saw Elder Holland in the grocery store getting flowers ( for his wife I assume) he asked me," please excuse me." I looked up and thought oh that is Elder Holland crazy. Anyways...Mom, Dad, Eldon, Janeen, and maybe Spencer are attending this time. I am so excited for them and a wee bit jealous. Have fun guys and some one please blog about it.

I am really excited and looking forward to hearing counsel this time. I am looking to get a master's degree but not sure what in and am still trying to find my eternal companion and how to balance those two things out in time, energy, where, what school etc.

Cole and The Hockey Puck -as emailed to katie from Jared

Blair and Shirley came up yesterday (Blair and Shirley are Ann Marie's parents and good family friends), and this morning before I left the house Cole and Shirley were putting together a puzzle that had these different sports scenes, football, basketball, hockey etc. Shirley pointed to the hockey puck and told Cole what it was, and he quickly corrected her and let her know that it was "a skeet". {For those of you who do not know skeet is a clay disc you shoot for fun or target practice.} It was a proud moment for me I thought it was hilarious.
